Alter Draft Pick Trading

Majority voted to not change draft pick trading.

Franchise Tags

YES

  • A franchise tag retains an expiring keeper for one more season at a premium cost based on where they were drafted. All players will result in a 5-round jump for the extra year if Franchised. Top 5 rounds players automatically become 1st rounder. After the tag year, the player becomes a free agent. It is a one-year retention tool for keeping a key player on your roster when their keeper contract runs out, buying you one more season before they hit the open market.

  1. HOW THE FRANCHISE TAGS WORK

  • When a player completes their final keeper year, they would normally become a free agent. A franchise tag prevents that by retaining the player for one additional season.
  • • 1. Eligibility: The player must have completed their final contract year and not been tagged before.
  • • 2. Window: Tags must be announced by the same date new keepers are.
  • • 3. Cost: 5 round jump for next draft.
  • • 4. One-time use: Each player can only be franchise tagged once. The tag cannot be repeated. Only one tag per team per year.
  • • 5. After the tag year: The player becomes a free agent and is removed from your roster. You can draft them normally, but you cannot tag them again.
  • • 6. Tagged players: Can be traded and dropped during the season just like any other player but cannot be tagged/kept by anyone else if moved in anyway.
  • • 6. Positions: Your tagged player can't be in the same position as another keeper and so forth.

19 week Season's
